1st Quarter

The Kansas City Chiefs kicked off to the Dallas Cowboys to get this one started., two of the top scoring teams went head to head. On their first possession the Cowboys were able to convert one first down conversion but were unable to put any points on the board and had to punt the ball away to the Chiefs.  Alex Smith has  been sensational this year as the Chiefs began their first possession.  Alex Smith started this game with 16 TD and zero interceptions, this would change.  The Chiefs also failed to convert a first down on their first possession of the game and had to kick the ball back to the Cowboys.  A false start was called on the Chiefs during the punt that pushed the Chiefs back five yards.  The Chiefs got a clean kick away and Switzer called a fair catch at the 37 yard line.  Each game this season has been interesting as Ezekiel Elliot’s legal issues has been an issue for the Cowboys, as questions are still remaining in regards to a suspension.    The Cowboys did not convert a first down on their 2nd possession and punted again to the Chiefs.  Alex Smith and the Chiefs again failed to have much movement as they punted back to the Dallas Cowboys.  On their next possession the Cowboys started on their own 49.  Chiefs, sparingly used used a 3-4 front.  On a second and ten Dez Bryant caught a pass for a first down.  Elliot had 6 carries for 23 yards late in the 1st quarter.  Prescott hit Williams for a gain of 27 to move the chains, the Cowboys were then in the red zone when Beasly caught a TD pass for 6 yards.  Extra point was good.

At the beginning of the 2nd quarter the Chiefs punted back off to the Cowboys for a touch back.  Starting from their own 20 the Cowboys were unable to convert a first down and had to punt back to the Chiefs.  Kansas City started on their own 36.  The Chiefs were able to move the ball converting several first downs but had to settle for a 38 yard field goal.  The Dallas Cowboys received the kickoff and took a knee for the touch back.  Prescott and the Cowboys started their drive from the 25 but were unable to increase their lead.  On a third and seven the Chiefs were unable to convert with 1:55 left on the clock late in the 2nd quarter.  After receiving the punt from the Chiefs, the Cowboys were able to move the ball ending with a Dak Prescott scramble for a 10 yard TD run.  With less than :15 seconds on the clock the Chiefs pulled out a spectacular play in which Hill scored on a 57 yard reception for a TD.

The Kansas City Chiefs received the kickoff to begin the 2nd half and started the drive on their own 38 yard line.  The Chiefs got an automatic first down on a pass interference play, and seemed to have momentum.  Smith eventually found Kelce for a TD to put KC up 16-14, the extra point was good.  The Cowboys tried to respond on their next possession and did with an Elliot rushing TD to put the Cowboys back up by 3, extra point was good.  The Chiefs were unable to return the favor having to punt the ball back to the Cowboys.

The Cowboys started off the 4th Quarter red hot as Dak hit completion after completion marching the Cowboys down the field.  At that point the Cowboys had 19 TD in their last 25 attempts in the red zone.  The Cowboys ended the drive with a Micheal Beasly TD, his second TD for the game.  The drive was 13 plays for 87 yards 6:46 seconds.  Extra point was good, and Cowboys lead was increased to 11.  The Chiefs were looking to mount a comeback but that was halted when Alex Smith threw his first interception of the year.  Intercepted by Heath at the Cowboy’s 35 yard line.  With 3:15 left in the game the Cowboys maintained a steady pace marching down the field.  The Cowboys were not able to keep the drive alive and had to punt back off to the Chiefs, downing the punt at the two with 1:49 seconds left in the game.  It was too late to make a come back, the Chiefs came up short and Cowboys won 17-28
